Overwhelmed?

We all feel overwhelmed from time to time. It's part of the speed-driven world we live in. So many details. So many demands. I've learned that when I feel overwhelmed, I need to stop, consider all that's on my to-do list, and prioritize. When we're overwhelmed, everything seems important. But in all likelihood, there are things you might cross off the list without major consequences. Consider: Is the item URGENT? As in, it must get done immediately or there will be serious consequences. Is the item IMPORTANT? As in, it has to get done, but there's time to tackle it. Is it something you do out of habit, but if you don't, life will go on as usual?

Then there's another factor to consider...Are you the best person for the task? Sometimes we fill our to-do list with actions that are best left to someone else. If you can, delegate tasks. Don't think you have to do it all by yourself. And learn how to live with "good enough" instead of perfection.
